During the last Bronco's playoff game against the Pats, Taylor went all out with her Bronco attire! Tay and Kamrynn both cheer for Tebow! Too bad they lost, but good thing we'll have his jersey all ready to go for next season!

This past Saturday we spent the day at the Nation Western Stock Show. It's a fun tradition we started doing with the girls and this year, Craig and Holly came along with us. We got to see the draft horses this year, an awesome rodeo, and tons of animals. I can't decide what I want more, a mini cow, a pigmy goat, or a teacup pig... oh the possibilities!

Every time I start to think we had a rough 2011 (which is often), I just look at these precious faces and remember how blessed we truly are as a family. I'm optimistic that Todd's work load will lesson and he'll be able to spend some more time at home this next year! Don't worry babe - I see 9-10 hour work days in your near future (instead of 14-16). Thanks for working so hard for us - we appreciate your sacrifice so much!! XOXO

Christmas Day!

Santa had a late night Christmas Eve working hard to make Christmas morning perfect for two little sweeties! My mom and dad and Todd's mom and dad all came up Christmas morning to watch the girls open presents. We were lucky enough this year that Kalee and Jenny came up too! We actually ended up waking the girls because all the adults were awake and excited! It took them a few minutes to get in the groove but they had a great time opening presents. Kamrynn got tired of opening about half way through and would say stuff like, "It's too big for me" or "it's too hard!". Taylor and I ended up helping her finish opening. They both were extremely happy and there's nothing like watching your kids' faces light up! Needless to say, we have some re-organizing to do and the girls both need to pick out a few toys to donate! We had a feast for breakfast and then everyone headed home to cook their respective Christmas dinners. We went down to the Dill house later that day to open more presents and have Christmas dinner with Todd's family. That was all wonderful and if we weren't tired enough, we went back to my parent's house to see them Christmas night. Some of my dad's family was visiting from out of state and we wanted to see all the Gallogly's as well. It was a wonderful, eventful, crazy, joyous day! Merry Christmas!

We ran out of room in the office so Santa had to leave the girls' presents in the great room!

I love the craziness that is Christmas! The shopping, the wrapping, the decorating, the shopping, more shopping, baking, more baking... I love it all! Lucky for me, the girls love it too! We had a wonderful December (including some time off for Todd!!!) but are more than ready for 2012! Bring it on! Here's a few things we did in early December...

Oh the weather outside is frightful... but the girls sure love to play in the snow! It is freezing cold and snowy today but Taylor and Kamrynn know how to enjoy a little nasty weather!

Bentley and Sugar have definitely kept this house joyful with lots of sweet snuggles! Bentley in particular will sleep anywhere! Sugar has taken a liking to Taylor pretend dog carrier - she seeks it out in the house and curls up in it! It's adorable! Bentley has finally turned a corner with his kitty cold and we should be all through with that nasty virus soon! After three rounds of antibiotics, a hospital stay, and lots of steam showers he's finally showing quite a bit of improvement. I'm glad we stuck it out because he is a curious, silly, affectionate kitty that we truly love! Here's a few pics from yesterday and today (I have to apologize because I think I've been taking more pictures of the kittens than the girls - whoops!).

Thanksgiving!

On Thanksgiving, we were fortunate enough to have the whole Gallogly clan together. That means Mom, Dad, Katie, Rustain, Karis, myself, Todd, Taylor, Kamrynn, Craig, Holly, Kelsey, Chris, Emery, and Jenny (we missed you Mitch!). Sixteen of my favorite people makes for one wonderful day! We let the girls exchange their gifts since we all won't be together at Christmas and they had so much fun opening up all the wonderful gifts!

Here they are all together! In another month we'll have the first baby boy cousin to add to the mix!

2 Very Special New Additions

So, the Dill's have once again added to the craziness with the addition of a duo of kittens. As some of you know, Paxton was a very beloved member of our family. He has always been quite a biter - especially with me and the girls, but recently he started crossing the line. Very long story short, Taylor was brushing him and he attacked her face. After a trip to the pediatrician, a lot of tears, calls to the vet, and more tears, we decided Paxton was not the kind of cat that should be around young kids. It was traumatic for all of us, but especially the kids. We love animals so much and would never dismiss a pet if it wasn't 100% necessary. Pax will always have a special place in our hearts. As if that wasn't hard enough, we also found out at a routine 9 week ultrasound that our little baby had not grown past 5 weeks. We were in complete shock. I knew these things happened but I really wasn't expecting it to happen to our family. Again, VERY VERY long story short, we waited a week to do another ultrasound just to be sure there was no sign of advancement and when I should have been 10 weeks our little angel was still showing 5 weeks. I was given medicine to help my body recognize the baby wasn't living any longer. We will always remember this baby and be sad that we were never able to meet him or her. We also believe in a God that has plan for our family and trust that He knows best and His will is always done. We are moving forward, not on, just forward. I'm lucky to have the most supportive, wonderful, loving husband. Todd knew my heart was broken and thought that maybe these 2 kitties would bring some sunshine into a rather gloomy house. Taylor and Kamrynn are absolutely in love with Sugar (white kitty) and Bentley (b&w). They are so sweet, spunky, and silly. We're loving their company and constant snuggles. We are also very lucky that they both LOVE the dogs - YAY! The last few months have taught me a lot and I feel like I've really grown as a person. I appreciate so much the 2 healthy, beautiful girls that God blessed us with. Thanks for all the love, prayers and support. XOXO

Bentley is our adventurous boy - spunky and silly!

Bentley is also SUCH a snuggle bug!! He'll curl up with anyone or anything! He loves the pups!

The kitties are not siblings but "colony mates" from the shelter. They play really well together and it will be so much fun to watch them grow up together.

Sugar is just like her name - so sweet. She's tiny tiny tiny and the softest thing ever! She's totally Taylor's little love and lets Tay carry her around all over the house. It's very sweet. I have to keep a watchful eye on Taylor though since Sugar has ended up in doll strollers, a play dog carrier, a backpack, and the doll crib! :)

The day before my niece, Emery's real birthday we headed to the zoo to celebrate! We went to the zoo for her first birthday so it was only natural that we went for her second too! All the girls love the zoo, and the Denver Zoo never disappoints.

This bird in the Aviary was hilarious! It just hung out right on the bridge and watched everyone. Kamrynn was actually more interested in the duck that was swimming in the stream below the bridge.

Our first snow of the year was a pretty good one! Taylor had a blast playing outside and throwing snowballs for the dogs. It was a heavy, wet snow so perfect for snowballs! It melted over the weekend but we enjoyed it while it lasted!

What a blur September has been! We had another 2 fosters this month, Lulu and Jess. They both were adopted quickly and our home is quiet once again. We're attempting to enjoy every last bit of sunshine before the weather turns cold and we're stuck inside. My dad finally moved from DC to Larkspur after months of waiting to join my mom. We were all thrilled for him to be back full time almost as much as we were thrilled that they finally had a couch to sit on! Just kidding dad, of course we were just happy to have you! :) Taylor and Kamrynn are keeping me on my toes, as always. They are both beyond smart and have me all figured out. They are both into My Little Pony right now, Twilight Sparkle being Kamrynn's favorite and Taylor's rotates between a few sparkly ponies. Todd has been busy with work and bow hunting. Antelope hunting is this weekend and I think I actually get my husband back for a weekend or two before elk rifle season starts. We're headed to the mountains Saturday for Elk Fest and I can't wait to take some pictures with all the gorgeous leaves changing! Stay tuned...

I decided to take the girls to the Denver Zoo before it starts cooling off and oh boy, did we have some fun! They were both in superb moods, the animals were all out and being active, it wasn't too crowded and the weather was beautiful. We were having so much fun I didn't take very many pictures! I sure do love my 2 monkeys!

It got a little hot in the middle of the day so we HAD to get some ice cream to cool off!

Kamrynn was not a fan of sharing with mommy! She kept telling me, "mommy share with Taylor!" Oh, BTW her knees are fine - Kami is in a "I really need a bandaid" phase and Taylor put those on her knees that morning. :) Love that girl's crazy hair!

I love the Denver Zoo because there are several exhibits where you leave you stroller and walk through. This one was the bird aviary. The girls LOVE it!!

Kamrynn has recently been falling asleep on my chest, which is a welcome habit from yours truly! She is still so tiny that's it's nice to have some snuggle time, it makes me feel like she's still a baby! I'm sure she's just going through a growth spurt but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!

Our sweet baby Taylor McKenzie turned 4 last week! Her birthday was so much fun and we literally had a blast all day long! I can't believe Taylor is already 4! I still remember very clearly working right up until we headed to the hospital, calling Todd and telling him what was going on, writing on a sticky note exactly when I was having contractions, seeing Taylor for the first time, deciding on her name, bringing her home, literally EVERYTHING! She is such a fun, sweet, loving, smart, sassy and silly little girl. Taylor keeps us laughing all day, every day. We are so blessed to be her parents!!

Taylor helped me make her cake pops the day before her birthday. She is such a good helper!!

Loves her nana! She told me the other day, "mommy, you have a sweet mom." I said, "I'm a sweet mom?" a little puzzled by her wording. So she corrected me, "No mommy, your mom, Nana, is a sweet mom." Haha!

Our cake pops are all done! They turned out great for my first try. I think I'll do a few things different next time but they sure tasted yummy!

This last weekend we made the trip to Las Vegas to see Kelsey and Chris tie the knot! It was so much fun and their wedding was beautiful! They were both so emotional, it was very sweet to watch. We got to enjoy the nightlife, gamble a little, and spend some time in the sun (while is was snowing in CO!). Good times had by all!!

So there was a bit of an emergency in the rescue and we ended up with another foster puppy - Ocho! He's a very sweet white lab mix of some sort. He's about 5-6 months old but acts older since he's totally potty trained and not crazy at all! His only issue was kennel cough and he was scared to death of being on a leash. All that is getting much better and he has totally settled into our house. He loves all the dogs and the we love having him until he finds his forever home. It's a little crazy around here with 4 dogs running around but it sure keeps things interesting. Ocho is super fast and so smart! He learns things so quickly! He probably won't be in our home for long but we'll sure enjoy him while he's here!

Meet Pudge - our latest and greatest RROC foster! He is a basset/golden retriever mix that's 4 years old. He's a whole lotta basset and a little bitta retriever. The girls love him because he's just their size and so laid back. Pudge doesn't quite live up to his name however - seeing that he's not pudgy at all! He's a wonderful foster and will make some family out there very lucky!

How do we celebrate Spring in the Dill house? By getting a new foster dog of course! Meet Grayson, our 3 year old yellow lab from KS. He's been kept outside on a chain his whole life and his owners finally decided it was time to find him a real home! We got his lovely ticks removed yesterday and he's doing fabulous! I wasn't sure what to expect with him in the house but he has been amazing! He follows me all over the house and attempts to sit in my lap ALL the time. He's really sweet and of course, it's going to kill me when he gets adopted. He'll make someone SO SO happy!

Slight Re-Decorating!

Todd will tell you that he's never quite sure what he'll come home too when I go on one of my decorating "binges". I like to decorate and re-decorate as frequently as ideas come to me. It's fun!! This time I just made a few minor adjustments/additions. So far, I love each room though!!

Sister/Cousin visit, Buena Vista, Cheyenne Mt Zoo....

My oldest sister, Katie and her one year old daughter, Karis came out from Kansas to visit us last week! It was perfect timing for both of us because Rustain has been working nights at the hospital and Todd has been working 13 hour days so we both needed some company! Luckily our other sister, Kelsey and her daughter, Emery were able to spend some time with us too! Chris even got stuck with us 3 sisters and 4 nieces at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (I think he enjoyed it!). We had a wonderful time reading TONS of stories, going up to Buena Vista to see Great Grandma, Karis's first zoo trip, and lots of other fun times. We even went by Nana and Pappy's future house (closing soon!!) a few times to check out the property! I couldn't have been happier to have Katie and Miss Karis out to visit. Taylor and Kamrynn sure loved it too, especially Taylor (she was Katie's big time buddy)! Here's a few pictures from the week!

One of the perks to having a husband who works for Haselden is that I can get a zoo pass for me and girls whenever we want to go. Thank you Haselden! Me and my ladies decided to visit our good friends at the Denver Zoo. We spend a lot of time there so the animals are literally like our buddies that we've been missing all winter long. The Denver Zoo is under a ton of construction right now so that made getting around our usual way a little tricky. We're SO SO SO excited for the new Asian Highlands exhibit though! Here's some pictures from our trip this last week!

Kamrynn would watch the fish for a few minutes and then run to the next tank - "more fish mama" **Sidenote - Kam has always called me mommy and all of a sudden she's started calling me "mama". I like it!**

The girls like to ride to each exhibit and then get out of the stroller to get a closer look at the animals. Works for me! They are at the perfect age for holding hands and sticking together. Taylor keeps a watchful eye on Kamrynn and Kamrynn never leaves Taylor's side. Sister love!!

The resident rhino, Mshindi is starting to get really old. :( He sleeps all the time and the zookeeper says he's getting sores that they have to tend to multiple times a day now. Glad we got to visit him and say hello! He's also the only rhino to be known to use a paint brush to create art! Yes, I always read the info sheets on all the animals and have managed to remember all kinds of fun facts! :)

The hippos are my favorite, along with Taylor. She was really worried because there was only the young hippo and we couldn't find the mommy. She kept saying, "mommy where is his family? Did they leave him? Did they run away? Oh where is his family?" It was kind of sad how concerned she was so we moved onto the next exhibit.

This is why I love Colorado - days like the last few we've had fun of nice warm sunshine! The girls and I took full advantage of the weather planning outside, going to the zoo, more playing outside. It was awesome. Dewey sure did love being out too - as you can see she let Taylor hold her like a baby. She sure is a sweet bunny. Kamrynn and Taylor both enjoyed showing their new Dolly's how to go down the slide, swing on the swing set and blow bubbles. We had lots of fun! Now...snow for tomorrow. BOO!!

Ok, I have been terrible at taking pictures lately! I feel like we're always running around doing something so rarely do I get my camera out and actually capture all these little moments! Playdates and Silly Girls!

Our sweet Honey has an adoptive family. She gets to meet them on Saturday afternoon. We're happy for her since we know she will be spoiled to death, but so sad to see her go.

Pax has taken this week to remind us that he is still top "dog" and that he runs this house whether the dogs think so or not. Haha! He's such a funny cat, love my boy!

Honey got a hold of Kamrynn's winter hat but when I caught her with it in her mouth she curled up and cuddled with it instead. Seriously, this girl is so sweet!

We had our first casualty of fostering - Belle is now forever crippled. Sorry Belle!

I have made a huge mommy discovery people! Kamrynn (my picky eater, especially compared to my eat everything in sight eater, Taylor) will eat whatever she has in hand if we "cheers" first! What does that mean for meal time? That we cheers everything from beverages to carrots! So far, success! It won't be long until she gets sick of that game and I'll have to find another way for her to eat what I cook but until then I'm hoping my 20 month old (as of yesterday) finally hits 20 lbs!

Tupelo, foster puppy #2

This is Tupelo
She is our second foster and a girl after my heart. She's a one year old golden retriever and we are in love. That's not a great thing when she is supposed to be adopted this week. It's going to be a very tough and trying decision if we keep her or not. On one hand, I want to help more dogs find forever homes and like the concept of fostering. On the other hand, this puppy is perfect in every way and how do I say goodbye to her?! Needless to say, it's going to be a long day.

Western Stock Show

Today, we went to the Stock Show with Jasen, Lisa, Colten, Kyla, Adam and Gretchen. We had a blast watching the rodeo, checking out all the live stock, hitting up the petting zoo, eating some seriously yummy food, and just enjoying all the "cowboy-esque" atmosphere. The girls loved it and all the animals definitely kept their interest! We'll be going back next year for sure!

This sweet girl is our RROC foster. We've had her for about 2 weeks and just got word last night that she was matched with a forever family. It was bitter sweet to know she'd be leaving us soon, but we're very excited for her! It's been an adventure having our 2 giants and then a puppy in the mix. I am sure we'll be just as excited for our next foster once we get the call that we're needed again. Tess was scheduled to be euthanized December 27th and we said YES to fostering this sweet girl on December 26th. That feels really good to know that we were able to save her. We're so glad Tess was our first foster and she'll be forever in our hearts!

Snow Day!

So, I swore when Todd got my the new Canon for Christmas that I would take tons more pictures! So far, such a lie! I've been awful at taking pictures and instead have been filling up all my spare time taking care of our foster pup, new sewing projects, and catching up on scrapebooking. Ok, at least I haven't been slacking off! Oh, and purchasing a new car!! Pictures to come very soon (it's been parked since it's been snowing and heaven forbid I get it dirty by driving in the snow!). It was freezing cold the other day but we all needed some fresh air so the girls and I headed out for a little snow time. It was so much fun and I was so surprised that Kamrynn actually loved it! I figured she would get frustrated trying to walk in big boots and snow pants and just cry. She sure showed me! Taylor's first words outside were, "Mommy, this snow does not make a ball!". It was that kind of freezing snow that just so fine it won't stick together. We're looking forward to next time when we can make a REAL snowman!

We spent Christmas this year in Shawnee, Kansas at my sister, Katie and brother in law, Rustain's house. It was amazing! The girls had so much fun playing together, cousins are the best! Christmas morning was insane - 4 1/2 hours of present opening. We were all blessed so much this year. Most of all, the warmth and peace of being around family is irreplaceable. Here's just a few pics from Christmas. I have lots more to come (including our Christmas before Christmas with the Dill's!).
Taylor played so hard she just fell fast asleep in the middle of the floor. If I remember correctly, she had just finished crying about one of the babies taking a toy! haha!

I'm pretty sure it's been a month since my last blog. This is the first time I've sat down at my Mac for longer than 5 minutes in a month! Kamrynn is sleeping. Taylor is watching a Christmas movie. Mommy is still drinking coffee and in her pj's. That's what catch-up day is all about right?! The Christmas shopping is done, I have a bed full of presents to wrap, and now we need a UHaul to get to Kansas with all the loot! I'm even more excited for Christmas this year with the girls! Taylor is completely engulfed with the magic of Santa, helping mommy (or anyone else) cook and bake, decorate, and watch Christmas movies. Kamrynn loves all the Christmas lights, taking ornaments off the tree and replacing them, watching the snow fall, and boy does she look cute in all her Christmas pajamas! I'm looking forward to it all! All the wonderful time with family, celebrating the birth of Jesus by giving gifts, baking treats, shopping, decorating, but most of all - having Todd home for 2 weeks!! Happy Christmas Season everyone!

Straight from the Grinch's mouth, we had a fabulous Halloween! We had so much fun going to Wishing Star Farm that morning. Taylor rode 2 ponies, we played in the corn, rode down a huge slide, pet/saw a ton of animals, did a hay ride and lots of other things. We picked out 3 huge pumpkins that we later painted. Taylor's turned out awesome! The girls looked so cute in their Halloween costumes, a bumble bee, a butterfly, and cousin Emery was a duck. Kelsey, Todd, the girls and I went trick or treating on our street. Kamrynn was totally into it! She even said "tick treat"! Taylor was the best at opening the door to hand out candy, that was her favorite part for sure. Here's a few pictures of our eventful night!

I am a self admitting Halloween scrooge! I'm not a fan of costumes, do not like the abundance of candy tempting myself and my little ones, get freaked out way too easily, and really dislike opening my door to a pack of 18 year olds wanting candy for wearing street clothes. I am a Halloween grinch, scrooge, whatever you want to call it! Although, since having kids I've really tried to wrap up my dislike, put on a happy face and have some fun! This year, we went to the Parker pumpkin patch to pick out carving pumpkins, pet some sweet baby farm animals, play in dried up corn, and attempt our first corn maze as a family. We had a blast! The girls LOVED it and Todd and I had a great time too. I'm looking forward to seeing the cute neighbor kids dressed up, my little bumble bee and butterfly buzzing/fluttering around the house, and attempting to bedazzle our pumpkins with Aunt Kelsey and Emery! Santa's Workshop!

Last Sunday, we decided it was time to take the girls to Santa's Workshop at the North Pole!! It was amazing weather, gorgeous drive up to Cascade, 2 happy girls, and 2 very pleased parents! We were amazing at the number of rides both girls could do, and not to mention, really enjoyed! They both had zero fear! Todd and I on the other hand realized quickly that all the kid rides involve a lot of spinning....not our favorite. But, we sucked it up and spun away with our giggling little peanuts! We had to see Santa twice because the first time Taylor was too shy, but could NOT leave before actually telling him what she wanted. I think she was mildly disappointed because she thought once she told him what she wanted he would just hand it to her. Waiting for Christmas is no fun for a 3 year old! Overall, it was so much fun for all 4 of us! We'll be heading back when Emery turns 1 in 2 weeks - she is a little adrenaline girl!

So the last few days I've been feeling like a slave. A slave to my house, a slave to my children, a slave to our animals, just a plain old slave. Todd's been working like a dog this week so we haven't been able to see much of him, which doesn't help. I fold a load of laundry and before I get it all put away another load needs to be put in. I spend an hour making a healthy, delicious meal and my kiddos decide tonight they don't like chicken, zucchini, and roasted potatoes. What happens?? My babies are whining for something else and I try not to cry as I sit at my table and eat by myself as the cat picks at the dinner Kamrynn so sweetly threw on the floor. I think to myself, "I guess that means I get to mop the floor for the eleventh time today." Sigh....

Taylor was just into everything yesterday! Paint, floss, markers, nail polish, water...everything! I was super frustrated yesterday but woke up today with a new outlook. Today I decided if I can't beat em, join em!! So, we redecorated the house with Taylor's newest creations. Her beautiful drawings are hanging all over the doors, the walls, the furniture, the fridge. In keeping with the art theme of the morning, I let the girls go to town in the bathtub with "bathtub paint". Thank you Crayola! It gave the girls a laugh, me a laugh, and even Paxton was enjoying the show. I realize sometimes you just gotta let go, take a break from being just a caretaker, and have some fun with your kiddos!!

Todd and I consider ourselves adventurous. Taking a 1 year old and a 3 year old camping defines adventure!! We loaded up the truck with 2 gigantic carseats, 2 gigantic dogs, a mommy and a papa, a truck bed FULL of gear and hit the road! Lots of marshmallows were eaten, dirt was everywhere, we didn't have the most restful night of sleep, but it was all worth it!

Warrior Dash!!

We are so thankful that Todd signed up to run in the Copper Mountain Warrior Dash! It was beyond fun!! There were so many fabulous things about it, amazing costumes, crazy people watching, healthy competition, mud, barbed wire, a mountain assent - doesn't get much better than that!! Todd did VERY well, which aided in the enjoyment of the day. It did, however take us 4 1/2 hours to get home. Todd and I had the Cystic Fibrosis Benefit dinner that evening so we were slightly rushed....we managed to get ready in a record 15 minutes! The event was amazing, as always. $170,000 was raised that evening going directly to research to find a cure for CF! It made us pause and thank the Lord for giving us 2 healthy girls and pray for those children and families living with a disease like CF. We pray a cure is on the horizon!!

Happy Birthday to Taylor!! On the 27th of this month, our sweet little Taylor turned the big 3 years old! We had an awesome morning opening presents followed my Mickey Mouse blueberry pancakes. Kami had just as much fun as Taylor did with all the new toys, especially the doll house!! Ok, I'm not going to lie - I think I had just as much fun as both the girls with the new doll house! Dressing Barbie is my specialty! We met up with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Kelsey, Uncle Chris, Emery, Aunt Kalee, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa for dinner that night at Red Robin. Taylor had a blast! We all headed back to our house to open the rest of Taylor's presents and have some safari cupcakes! All in all, it was an amazing birthday for Taylor. I can't wait until Nana, Aunt Jenny, Aunt Katie and Karis are here in 2 weeks so we can celebrate all over again!

We recently took Taylor fishing for the first time! Todd was in heaven helping her catch fish after fish and after fish! She probably reeled in 6 in 30 minutes. That made the experience much more exciting! She did awesome and really didn't need much help. Todd would cast for her and then he would either hook the fish and let her reel it in or she would do it all by herself!! I think both Todd and Taylor are counting down the seconds until they can go again. It's the pond right by our house, about a 1/2 mile away. So far, Taylor's only caught some little panfish but we know there are bigger fish out there so it's just a matter of time before our master angler (that would be Todd) catches some big-uns!

Taylor just crawled in bed a few minutes ago and said, "Mommy, will you please shut my door? I'm going to sleep for a little bit." I totally thought she was playing a game but seconds later when I walked back in - fast asleep! The girl knows when she's tired I guess!

Taylor is also my little social butterfly. She wants to have plans every day! Each day it's something/someone new, "Are we going to Grandma and Grandpa's house? Are we going to see Madly and Aunt Kelsey (never mind cousin Emery)! Nana's coming to see me? She goes on and on, different people every time. She sure loves her family!!

I can't believe out little Taylor is almost 3 years old! Where did the time go? She is our animal lover, spirited, hard headed, affectionate, smart, beautiful, sweet little girl. She is started to spell words - correctly and incorrectly. Really she's just memorizing what mommy tells her, but still, it's awesome! She is very into "writing" all of our names. We are working on learning how to write our letters. Taylor helps me cook every meal - she is a very good helper. She also helps me tons with Kamrynn! She still loves her polly pockets and all the princesses, and thanks to my best friend in Texas, she is now in love with Barbie and my little ponies! I love it - dressing Barbie is way too much fun for me as well as for Tay! She calls her ponies "corns" which I didn't understand at all the first time she asked me to play with her "corns". After I finally figured out what the heck she was talking about it dawned on me that some of the ponies are UNICORNS and she has officially dubbed them CORNS! She asked me yesterday for a boy Barbie because Barbie needs to dance with a prince. It's on the birthday list! Todd and I are so lucky to have such a fun little princess in our lives!!

Pickle Farms just added a new member to the family! We adopted Pax on Friday morning and are all completely smitten with this little kitten! He is such a lover and the sweetest little man. He is playful, cuddly, patient, and did I mention a lover?? He wants to be held all the time, which has led to a bit of jealousy on Kamrynn's end. Mommy holds Pax (a lot) and Kamrynn gets a little frustrated when my hands are full! :) Taylor is so in love and Pax has been so amazing with her. She holds him and snuggles him ALL THE TIME and he loves it! He purrs non-stop! Todd also just got a big fish tank so we have 4 new fish to add to the mix as well. Like I said, Pickle Farms!!

So little Kamrynn could totally walk if she wanted to - she's just decided she likes to hold onto things much better. She is my cautious one for sure! Todd and I got her the ladybug wheelie for her birthday and it's the cutest toy! She likes to ride on it and push it around while walking. She also loves walking with Taylor!! Taylor does such a good job helping her get around - it's really cute. Kamrynn was cracking us up yesterday because she would push the wheelie around and then just stand there and pick it all the way up! She is SO strong (and very balanced!!). Anytime we're expecting her to decide she's ready to walk by herself!!

Taylor's new favorite thing is holding Kamrynn. Too bad Kami doesn't sit still long enough to be held anymore. Taylor wanted to take a picture with her so badly and Kamrynn just wanted to crawl away and play! My 2 little sweet hearts!
It's been discovered through trial and error that Kamrynn is a chip-aholic - just like her Papa! I can safely say her favorite food is cheetos!!

Yesterday we went to the Denver Zoo with Kelsey, Emery, Tracey, Thomas and Emily. Tracey is Chris's sister in law and her 2 kids are the same age as Taylor and Kamrynn. It was the perfect day to go, 75 and overcast. It's so nice not having to worry about sunscreen!! The kiddos had a blast watching the animals!

We had a few close friends over on Saturday to help us celebrate Kamrynn's first birthday. Of course, I got a little crazy with the party planning but it all worked out great. The cupcakes I decided to do were a ton of fun but so time consuming! The ladybugs are chocolate decorated with a black gel pen and the flowers are marshmallows cut and dipped in colored sugar. It was worth it though! Kamrynn wouldn't know how yummy they were since she didn't touch her cake! It was so windy outside and Todd had just cut the grass so Kamrynn's allergies went crazy! She swelled up so bad and even got hives on her forehead. Poor baby had to get benedryl and slept through the first couple hours everyone was over. It was also extremely windy!! We still managed to play a few lawn games but it would have felt a lot better if it wouldn't have been so dang windy!! Kamrynn hung in there, even though I'm sure she was feeling awful and still managed to smile and play. We had a great time and are so thankful for our little baby ladybug!

Birthday Morning for our Ladybug!

Kamrynn's first birthday was Sunday and we had a great morning! I made her favorite breakfast - french toast followed by opening presents! Todd and I got her a wheely bug that is just awesome. Kami and Taylor both love it! I can't believe it's been a year already since I started this blog. It sure has flown by, as they all do. She went in for her year checkup yesterday and all is well. She still isn't on the charts, weighing in at a mini 16 lbs 11 ounces, but she's healthy and that's all that matters. I took for granted how well Taylor ate, that's for sure! Just to give you an idea - Taylor weighed 21 lbs 3 ounces at a year...

Kamrynn is such a sweet baby. Her sweet little giggle is the best noise in the whole world. She is such a smart cookie and pretty dang cute if I do say so myself. :) We have cherished every moment with her and will continue to do so and this next year flies by as well. Love you ladybug!!

Grandma and Grandpa hosted Kamrynn's first family birthday party at their house in the Springs this past Sunday. It was wonderful! We decorated with all ladybug "stuff" and it looked (and tasted) amazing. Kamrynn was not a fan of her cake - she didn't try one lick of frosting! Instead - she was completely content just eating broccoli. Crazy girl doesn't know what she's missing! She sure made us all laugh though choosing broccoli over cake! We are blessed with wonderful family and our girls are so lucky to have so many people that care about them. Taylor had a great time too helping Kamrynn open gifts and helping Grandpa set up lawn games. She was pretty dang good at frisbee horseshoes!

So this is quite the compilation of pictures from the last week in DC. Taylor, Kamrynn, Kelsey, Emery, Nana, Pappy and I have been seeing everything we can! I can't believe how much there is to do here - we have to seriously prioritize! We have become quite the metro experts and the guy working the gate talks to us every day now - I guess that makes us regulars! The girls have all been doing amazing! Jenny gets into DC tonight and we have a packed schedule the next few days. The weather has been gorgeous and I am SO happy to be missing out on snow in Colorado. Seriously?! We miss Todd and the puppies lots but we'll see them soon. Lots more pictures to come!!

The Flu - oh my...

Sorry for not posting in 2 weeks...we have been one sick house! Todd started it off by getting the flu, followed by mommy, followed by Kamrynn. Luckily, Taylor was only sick for an afternoon so she bounced right back. It was awful being so sick but I think we are all through it now! We've been busy getting ready for our trip to DC. Todd is staying home to get some much needed "boy" things done...aka fishing, lawn work, golf. We are very glad he will be able to have some fun while us girls are gone!

Kamrynn has been climbing everything!! She is into every cupboard - literally, she climbs right inside! This morning she climbed up on the suitcase and just sat there for a minute. While she loves walking holding onto our fingers, she does not want to walk by herself. She just freezes standing up and sits down in slow motion to crawl again...little stinker! One of these days she will decide she is brave enough to do it on her own!

Taylor is so busy playing outside in this beautiful weather we've been having the last few days - thank goodness! She sleeps with her Polly Pockets every night (a whole box of them). Anytime she hears kids outside she tells me, "Mommy, my friends! I need to go see my friends!" She is such a sweet heart to her Kamrynn and speaks so sweetly to her. It melts my heart to hear her talk about her sister, "Kamrynn is my best best friend."

Well, wish me luck tomorrow as we leave on a jet plane! It's my first flight with both girls by myself. Thank goodness for the ipad and the Toy Story app! Kelsey and Emery will be with us too so I'm sure we'll have a great time!

Horsetooth Half

I am one proud wifey! Todd ran the Horsetooth Half Marathon this past Sunday and did amazing! Gretchen (Todd's cousin Adam's wife) and Todd both finished really well; Gretchen finished in 2 hours 2 minutes and Todd finished in 1 hour 39 minutes. Wow!! Todd has decided to run a "warrior race" next in late August up in Copper Mountain. Look out for those pictures to come!! Mud, fire, ropes, this course will have it all. So proud of you Todd - love you!!!

My wonderful cousin-in-law, Gretchen gave me a disc from their wedding with all the pictures of the girls on it! They are just too cute not to share! Their photographer was Graham Taylor, who also did our wedding. He is a gem!! I can't wait until the girls are a little older and we can do a family session! Kamrynn was just 4 weeks old and Taylor wasn't quite yet 2.

The Rest of Easter

Here are the rest of our Easter pictures! We had a wonderful dinner with Kelsey, Chris and Emery - thanks for coming over! It was a little windy when I was trying to get pictures of Taylor and Kamrynn so those didn't turn out amazing. Taylor REFUSED to wear her Easter dress (you have no idea!) but that's ok - she still looked cute. Kamrynn has been really sick the last week with a viral cold and ear infection and Taylor started coughing as well so we opted not to expose church to our sick babies. Kamrynn is starting to feel better finally and the cough doesn't seem to bother Taylor much - thank goodness. We are praying for a healthy April!!

Little Taylor

Taylor has been cracking me up lately with the things she says and I thought I would share a few that are still fresh in my mind!

This morning Todd was in the basement working out and Taylor told me, "I need to talk to Papa." She walked over to the basement door, opened it up and said, "Todd, you need some coffee? You need some cereal?" She is so grown up!

I was getting ready in the bathroom and whenever Taylor sees me doing my makeup she inquires, "Where we going?" Like the only time I ever put makeup on is when we have somewhere to go - ok she might be right. Next she said, "I don't want candy in my basket." I asked, "Why not?" "Because the Easter bunny is too big for the door. I don't want him to come in the house." Think about it, a big bunny comes into your house at night, leaves you things and then disappears - kinda scary for a 2 year old! She had the same trepidations about Santa. I tried to explain the Easter bunny loves Jesus too and he wants to help us celebrate by bringing little presents to children. She thought about that for a minute and decided that sounded ok...we will see!

Taylor always says the sweetest things to Kamrynn, this morning Kami was eating breakfast and Taylor told her, "Kami sweetie you're too little to go up the stairs." She uses the sweetest little voice and always pats her and kisses her on the head. If you could just see it!! Melts my heart!!

Well, that was just this morning before 8am - who knows what other clever little things she will say today!

A warm weather tease

Here are a few pictures from the few days that we had some nice weather. The girls (and I) were loving every second! Turns out I have 2 girls that love to swing and luckily I can swing them both at the same time! Taylor fell in love with water painting and asks to do it just about every hour now. She had to settle for some water colors since it's been snowing and now she loves that just as much! We are ready for Spring!!

John Mayor Concert....oh wait

Wednesday Todd and I were so excited to go see John Mayor at the Pepsi Center. We had the babysitter lined up, all dressed up, tickets in hand, snow coming down - wait, snow coming down? That was not in the plan!! Long story short, it took us 2 1/2 hours to get from our house to the Lincoln exit on the highway and back home - about 40 miles total...not fun! Towards the end all we could see was snow - I wasn't even 100% sure we were on the road. It was a mini adventure but not one I'm looking forward to again anytime soon. Maybe next time John Mayor!

Time to Catch Up!

So it's probably about time I update the blog from all our travels in March! We had a fabulous time meeting baby Karis out in Kansas and seeing Katie and Rustain. Karis is a doll and such a good baby! Katie and Rustain are doing amazing and are such naturals. The 9 hour car ride out to Kansas was interesting to say the least. At one point I was crying and Kelsey was singing, "Jesus take the wheel!" We got there safely though and it was all worth it. Seeing all 4 babies together was awesome (I still consider Taylor one of the babies). It was so much fun to have my mom and dad there as well so we could see them and visit before the big move to DC. They are house hunting as I write this - exciting! I made all the girls tutu's so we could get a picture of all of them. It proved much more difficult than I thought to get them all to sit still long enough to snap a picture. Taylor hated her tutu!! Thanks a lot! :) Katie and Rustain will be out to Colorado either late April or late May and we cannot wait to see them again! Kelsey was amazing to have in the car with me and she sure worked hard to keep Taylor, Kamrynn and Emery happy!

Butterfly Pavillions

This last weekend we went to the Butterfly Pavillion up in Westminster. It was so much fun! They have a few exhibits with different bugs/spiders, starfish/crabs, and then a rainforest with tons of butterflies. It was beautiful and both girls really enjoyed it! After the Pavillion we went to Flat Iron mall and walked around for awhile. You'll see Kamrynn stuffing her face with a french fry and Taylor attempting to share her chicken nugget. Since Kamrynn is now below the 5th percentile for weight our doctor suggested we try and fatten her up - what better way than with a McDonald's french fry! I seriously cannot believe I let my 9 month old baby eat a french fry!! Don't judge! :) Kamrynn is just fine, her gross and fine moter skills along with her speech are off the charts. She is just a tiny peanut!
